Update for the week of July 24 – July 30

I’m back to report my goals progress. Will I accomplish every goal?  Maybe not and I’m totally okay with it.  But if these goals are in the forefront of my mind, I know I will end up being in a better place at year end having focused on these goals/choices then I would be otherwise.

So thank you for being my accountability partner.

Here is this past week’s progress:

1. Pay off the remaining consumer debt. – consumer debt free – 4/16/17  – Paid off $137,000 since January 2013

NEW GOAL:  Start saving as much as possible for future goals!

Nothing still.  Any extra that we have is going towards projects around the house right now.

2.  Ebay sales of $20,000 and track how many hours I work each week.

Last week was kind of slow on the ebay front.  I made $128.93 in ebay sales.  I only spent about 20 minutes in packing/shipping.

3. Weekly date night with my husband.

No date night last week.  Had a lot going on.

4. Track our spending.

Yes, I’m pretty current on our spending.  Lots of spending on school and home remodeling stuff.  Hate to be spending the money, but am happy with what we’re doing with the house.

5. Be more active/exercise.

Yes.  I have to say that this past week is probably the first week where I spent quite a bit of time walking.  Went for 3 long walks this week.  Two of those times with my hubby.  It’s one of my favorite things to do.  Nothing to do, no interruptions…just quality time in nature and with each other.  Love it!!

6. Let go of unnecessary stuff in my life (declutter/minimize/simplify – whatever you want to call it).

Nothing last week.

7. Organize and digitize all of our photographs.

Not much last week.

8. Take more photos of my family and life.

Wow.  I actually have no photos to share from this time around.  Crazy!

9. An attitude of gratitude. I am grateful…

  • For hubby’s productivity around the house and for putting up with my demands.  We went from just painting the rooms to replace all moulding and trim, redoing the window sills and refinishing our hardwood floors.
  • That as busy as hubby has been with projects lately, he’s still gone on two really long walks with me (which I love so much).
  • That even though we’ve had a bit of bad luck lately, things could be so much worse.
The car door broke on one of our cars.  I don’t want hubby to take the time out of house projects to fix it (he did just fix the brakes on a different car).  Two valve stems broke on our trailer tires and again I don’t want for hubby to take time out to fix it.  We were supposed to get more mulch. My middle son was camping and they got robbed (he had a brand new $70 pair of shoes stolen (we told him not to take them), $110 dollars from his wallet that he left in friends car (was broken into) and a gas camping stove.  And my oldest son got in a car accident (no one was hurt).
  • That we are all healthy and happy.  That’s all that really matters.
I know there is more that I am grateful for, but these are the things that come to mind.  What are you grateful for?

10. Microadventures. I love to get away.  It could be a day trip to the beach.  It could be exploring a new park or forest preserve.  And this year I want to focus more on little microadventures. I hope for 1 per month.

No Microadventures this time around.

12. Try new recipes.

No new recipes this time.

13. Chore free weekends. Try to get all our chores completed during the week so that weekends will be chore-free and guilt-free! (ON HOLD FOR NOW)

Lots of projects that we’re working on, so this will be on hold for a little while.

14. Read 52 books.  Last year I read a total of 53 books.  So I’m hoping to read at least 52 this year.  You can see which books I’ve read on my 2016 Books board on Pinterest. Here’s what I read/listened to last week:

No books read last week.

How are your goals coming along??  I’d love to read about them in the comments!
