My 2017 Goals – Week of December 18 – December 24

December 28, 2017

Update for the week of December 18 – December 24

I’m back to report my goals progress. Will I accomplish every goal?  Maybe not and I’m totally okay with it.  But if these goals are in the forefront of my mind, I know I will end up being in a better place at year end having focused on these goals/choices then I would be otherwise.

So thank you for being my accountability partner.

Here is this past week’s progress:

Note:  Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Due to the holiday and all the preparations that come with it (presents, out of town family, etc.) it was a very slow week in terms of goal accomplishments.

1. Pay off the remaining consumer debt. – consumer debt free – 4/16/17  – Paid off $137,000 since January 2013

NEW GOAL:  Start saving as much as possible for future goals!
(3 month emergency reserve – done – 11/15/17)
(pay off mortgage).

Nothing here.

2.  Ebay sales of $20,000 and track how many hours I work each week.  (I’m embarrassed to have listed that number so high when I’ve not made this goal a priority whatsoever this year.)

It was a nice week on Ebay! I made $442.66.  I wish every week were like this.

82Hubby and I did a little thrifting and picked up some items for resale, but I don’t count that into time spent working on ebay as I’m mostly looking through clothes for the family while hubby looks for resale items. LOL

I did spend about 45 minutes to 1 hour in prepping and shipping items.

Year to date:

Ebay  $        8,696.90
Amazon  $           438.74
Bonanza  $           250.42
Craigslist  $          204.00

YTD Total Sales:  $9,590.06

3. Weekly date night with my husband.

Hubby and I did go out this week.  We went to a local Pepe’s restaurant for a lunch buffet and then went out thrifting to a couple of nearby Salvation Army stores.

4. Track our spending.

Hubby and the kids bought me a present for Christmas and hubby asked that I not look at the Credit card as to not see the charge for the present.  So I have not checked/tracked our spending last week.  Will be doing so shortly.

5. Be more active/exercise.

Nothing at all.  Lots of eating over Christmas and no exercise.  Not a good combination!!

6. Let go of unnecessary stuff in my life (declutter/minimize/simplify – whatever you want to call it).

Nothing that I can recall.

7. Organize and digitize all of our photographs.

Nope.

8. Take more photos of my family and life.

I took a few pictures of hubby and one of our dogs…and nothing else.  Bad week in documenting our family life.  But it was a busy week of living! 🙂

9. An attitude of gratitude. I am grateful…

  • That my  parents came to town for Christmas.
  • That we had a white Christmas.  We had a about 1.5″ of snow and it snowed most of Christmas Eve.  Jut gorgeous!
  • For relaxed days after Christmas…hubby on vacation/staycation.  Just hanging out, reading..sitting by the fire.  Very peaceful and relaxing.  Love it.
  • For a generous Santa.  Hubby and I didn’t exchange any gifts, but the kids and hubby got me a Sonos Play 1 (which is awesome and I’ve been wanting for quite a while).
  • That we are all healthy.
  • For my at home gel manicure that has lasted over 2 weeks..and my nails still look great.  I love it!

I’m certain there’s more that I’m grateful for, but this is all that I ca recall without having taken any notes.  What are you grateful for?

10. Microadventures. I love to get away.  It could be a day trip to the beach.  It could be exploring a new park or forest preserve.  And this year I want to focus more on little microadventures. I hope for 1 per month.

Nothing.

12. Try new recipes.

I made three different Polish cakes for Christmas this year.  Two of which I’ve never made before.  I made this traditional apple cake (which is a family favorite).  I also make this “Babka” with dark chocolate and this raisin yeast cake.  So yummy and easy to make.  But you’ll need to use google translate if you wanna try the last two cakes.  ;p)

13. Chore free weekends. Try to get all our chores completed during the week so that weekends will be chore-free and guilt-free! (ON HOLD FOR NOW – working on some house projects )

Yes…another chore-free weekend.

14. Read 52 books.  Accomplished end of August.  I’m currently up to 74 books. You can see which books I’ve read this year on my 2017 Books I’v Read Pinterest board.

Nothing last week.  I did do quite a bit of Christmas music listening…mostly instrumental though.  I just wanted something beautiful and peaceful.

Have you read any fabulous books lately?  Tell me about it?

How are your goals coming along??  I’d love to read about them in the comments!
