My 2017 Goals – Week of April 3- April 9

“Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. It’s not a day when you lounge around doing nothing; it’s a day you’ve had everything to do and you’ve done it.”

Update for the week of April 3 – April 9

I’m back to report my goals progress. Will I accomplish every goal?  Maybe not and I’m totally okay with it.  But if these goals are in the forefront of my mind, I know I will end up being in a better place at year end having focused on these goals/choices then I would be otherwise.

So thank you for being my accountability partner.

Here is this past week’s progress:

1. Pay off the remaining $40,000 of debt.

I added $250.  Still leaving $32,900 left on the debt.  We’ve had a lot of expenses lately and I haven’t paid down as much as I’d like.

2.  Ebay sales of $20,000 and track how many hours I work each week.

I made $129.60 in Ebay sales. And I spent 8 hours on my ebay business last week.  I seem to be too much of a homemaker and don’t make enough time to actually work on my ebay business.  I’m happy about how much time I put into it last week.  Been doing quite a bit of photographing and listing.

3. Weekly date night with my husband.

We went to Baker’s Square for dinner last Friday.  We had a coupon for a free entree with the purchase of a free entree and 2 drinks.  We had burgers.  They were quite good, but we were a bit grossed out at this particular location.  It was very dated and things like wall paneling was coming off and it was dirty.  Not sure it’s a place I’d ever want to go back to.  I’m not a snob and enjoy visiting little food joints, etc.  But this place was pretty bad.

4. Track our spending.

Nope.  I’m behind 1 week.  Not too bad, I guess

5. Be more active/exercise.

Leg is feeling a little bit better.  Still not 100%, so I’ve been trying to do quite a bit of walking.  It’s been raining a lot here lately, so I’ve been dragging my husband to furniture stores and the mall, and we’ve just been walking around.  It was kind of fun to see what’s new at the furniture store.  Last time we bought any kind was about 12 years ago.

6. Let go of unnecessary stuff in my life (declutter/minimize/simplify – whatever you want to call it).

Went through some more boxes of stuff I had from the studio.  I ended up shredding like to garbage bags full of sensitive stuff that have been piling up in the basement waiting to be shred.  Slowly, but surely!

7. Organize and digitize all of our photographs.

Ongoing project. I went through some old sd/cf cards and downloaded and backed up.

A photo I took this time last year of a blooming cherry tree (I think). So gorgeous!

8. Take more photos of my family and life.

Wow, last week has been lacking in family pics.  My whole week was just full of ebay photos.  The only photo I took was of a table we saw at the furniture store.  Something that I’d like to get in the future or have my hubby make for me. Kind of a farmhouse look.  Although I’d like to add some fabric covered chairs to go with it, to have both rustic and glamorous at the same time.  I have another photo with those kind of chairs on hubby’s phone as mine died.

I’ve also had my hubby and kids take some photos of me – kind of outfit of the day pics.  I’m wanting to put together a post about thrifted budget friendly fashion.

9. An attitude of gratitude. I am grateful…

  • That although it was a really wet and gloomy week of rain, it will be great for the beautiful trees and flowers/plants in my garden.
  • That I got my citizenship in 1996 and that I’m able to vote.  We had a local election last week.
  • Hubby started back on overtime again. We still have some expenses coming up, but hopefully I’ll be able to add $ more to out debt payoff soon.
  • Although we had some big expenses recently, we are able to pay for them and not incur any new debt (I mean not being able to pay off a credit card and incur finance charges).

I know there is more that I am grateful for, but these are the things that come to mind.  What are you grateful for?

10. Microadventures. I love to get away.  It could be a day trip to the beach.  It could be exploring a new park or forest preserve.  And this year I want to focus more on little microadventures.

Nothing this time.

12. Try new recipes.

Nothing new this time.

13. Chore free weekends. Try to get all our chores completed during the week so that weekends will be chore-free and guilt-free!

Hubby had to work all day on Saturday, so I actually did a little bit of Ebay work and cleaned the whole house.

14. Read 52 books.  Last year I read a total of 53 books.  So I’m hoping to read at least 52 this year.  You can see which books I’ve read on my 2016 Books board on Pinterest. Here’s what I’m currently reading:

How are your goals coming along??  I’d love to read about them in the comments!
