Update for the week of April 24 – April 30

I’m back to report my goals progress. Will I accomplish every goal?  Maybe not and I’m totally okay with it.  But if these goals are in the forefront of my mind, I know I will end up being in a better place at year end having focused on these goals/choices then I would be otherwise.

So thank you for being my accountability partner.

Here is this past week’s progress:

1. Pay off the remaining consumer debt. – CONSUMER DEBT FREE – 4/16/17

🙂

2.  Ebay sales of $20,000 and track how many hours I work each week.

I made $253.46.96 in Ebay sales last week. And I spent about 6 hours and 15 minutes on my ebay business.  I’m still quite happy that I’ve been putting in a little bit of time into it.

3. Weekly date night with my husband.

No date night last week.  I was actually busy 2 evenings last week with some photography clients.  One of those evening being Friday (that’s usually our date night).

4. Track our spending.

Yes, I did spend some time catching up last week.

5. Be more active/exercise.

Yes, although my definition of exercise may be a little different than most.  As I consider any kind of activity exercise.  Last week I spend 4.5 hours weeding in the garden.  We purchased some composted horse manure last year as a mulch.  Unfortunately, that kind of mulch does seem to have quite a bit of seeds in it, making it prone to weeds.  Once I finish weeding, we’ll get a regular mulch this year which will hopefully help prevent those suckers from coming up.  But I don’t mind working in the garden, even it is only weeding!

6. Let go of unnecessary stuff in my life (declutter/minimize/simplify – whatever you want to call it).

Didn’t do much last week.  Still working on my closet.  Was able to switch most of my hangers from the slippery white ones to the black non-slippery velvet ones like these.  They also don’t make those points that stick up on your shoulders on some shirts.  Heavier fabrics are prone to that.  These hangers help with that too.

7. Organize and digitize all of our photographs.

I don’t know how many photos the average person has, but we have thousands and thousands of photos.  So I’m still not done backing everything up to multiple places.  But I did work on this a little bit last week!  🙂

My boys back in 2009.

8. Take more photos of my family and life.

A hedge of sweet smelling lilacs outside my bedroom window. Something I look forward to every spring!

9. An attitude of gratitude. I am grateful…

  • To have bloggers, YouTubers and other to learn from and be inspired by. Whatever your interest, you can find someone online that shares your passions and interests.  We are so lucky to be living in these amazing times.
  • That my MIL decided to get together for a Mother’s Day dinner on Sunday.  A couple of weeks before actual Mother’s Day so that we can then all enjoy the day with our families.  Hubby and I, along with this 2 siblings, also went to my MIL’s house for a Mother’s Day dinner.  I like this much better.  This way, I can plan the day just for us.  🙂
  • For great and entertaining audibooks like the one I listened to last week (The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared).
  • For how quickly everything is turning green and for the blooms from all of my spring flowers (quince, daffodils, hyacinths, muscari, tulips, cherry blossoms, crab apples).
  • For my husband’s continued overtime.
  • Still, that we are debt free.  Still so hard to believe.
  • For family get togethers.  My cousin’s daughter had a communion party on Saturday.  It gives us an opportunity to see my extended family.  Lots of people we see only at these types of parties.
  • To be able to watch the sun rise through the kitchen window as I sit and drink my coffee on the couch every morning.
  • That I have so many things to be grateful for.

I know there is more that I am grateful for, but these are the things that come to mind.  What are you grateful for?

10. Microadventures. I love to get away.  It could be a day trip to the beach.  It could be exploring a new park or forest preserve.  And this year I want to focus more on little microadventures.

Nothing this past week.  Hopefully this week!

12. Try new recipes.

Nothing new this past week.

13. Chore free weekends. Try to get all our chores completed during the week so that weekends will be chore-free and guilt-free!

Yes!  🙂  All we did was attend parties this weekend!

14. Read 52 books.  Last year I read a total of 53 books.  So I’m hoping to read at least 52 this year.  You can see which books I’ve read on my 2016 Books board on Pinterest. Here’s what I read/listened to last week:

How are your goals coming along??  I’d love to read about them in the comments!
